I was born in 1961 in Lethbridge, Alberta. I spent many happy years working on the family farm south of Lethbridge and in Northern Montana.
I completed a Bachelor Degree (B.A.) in General Studies at the University of Calgary in 1985 with a focus on History and Literature. I continued on at the University of Calgary and completed a Masters Degree (M.A.) in Political Science with a major in Constitutional Law and Public Policy. In 1987, I attended law school at the University of Alberta in Edmonton and completed my Law Degree (L.L.B.) in 1990.
I am a member of the Alberta Bar in good standing since 1991. I have practiced in the areas of personal injury, family law, real estate, and civil litigation. My focus over the past fifteen years has been criminal law plea negotiations and trials. I have defended hundreds of individuals accused of a variety of offences that range from shoplifting to murder.
Please give me a call any time at (403) 288-7788. My e-mail contact is Kaupplaw@Shaw.ca. I can accommodate some evening and weekend appointments.
When not in Court or otherwise engaged in the practice of law, I enjoy a variety of sports including golf, tennis and skiing. I have combined an interest in photography with a fair bit of travel in North America and Europe. I have included some of my better efforts at photography below.
